Job Description
The Senior Accountant at Asaak will be responsible for the financial and accounting transactions of the company. He or She files taxes and manages financial accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide oversight and ensure the organization's financial practices align with the company objectives and growth aspirations.
Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and capital expenditures.
Prepare, present, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to advise Management on financial performance, and budgetary control measures within the agreed reporting guidelines.
Prepare monthly payroll and make remittances to statutory bodies and payments in line with the Statutory requirements.
Take the lead in and drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, prepare the company’s annual budgets and monitor the implementation of approved budgets by Management and the Board in line with the company’s guidelines.
Facilitate and implement quarterly and annual internal, external audit findings related to the financial management of the company in line with the audit guidelines.
Engage with external partners, such as auditors, investors, and regulatory authorities
Ensure up-to-date compliance with financial regulations and standards, including timely reporting and audits
Oversee and evaluate staff’s performance in the Finance and accounts department, continuously assess their knowledge and skills levels, and provide relevant guidance, coaching and training ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency and team cohesion in line with the company and departmental guidelines.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
The job holder should have:
Must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance), BBA (Accounting or Finance), Bachelor’s Degree in accounting & finance, microfinance or any related field majoring in accounting with at least level 2 of ACCA/CPA
Must have at least 3-5 years of working experience in Accounting and Financial analysis.
Must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be trustworthy and willing to take responsibility
Must have outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English)
Must have experience and proficiency in accounting software preferably QuickBooks.
Must have high levels of personal and professional integrity
