The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has introduced a masterclass specifically designed for holders of Foreign Accountancy Qualifications (FAQs). The primary aim of this masterclass is to simplify the full membership enrollment process for FAQ holders, allowing them to fully benefit from being Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
ICPAU Introduces Membership Masterclass for Holders of Foreign Accountancy Qualifications
FAQs refer to foreign accountancy qualifications obtained from outside the East African Community. They include but are not limited to the Chartered Management Global Accountant (CGMA), Chartered Accountant (CA) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualifications. To qualify for enrolment as full members of ICPAU holders of FAQs are required to study some papers of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) course, such as Business & Company Law, Public Financial Management, Audit Practice & Assurance and Advanced Taxation.
Background:
In the past, ICPAU only admitted members from specified Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAOs).
Many FAQ holders completed their professional accountancy courses before 2013 but did not take advantage of the moratorium to apply for ICPAU membership.
These individuals are currently employed in accounting roles but face challenges with the current examination structure.
If you’re an FAQ holder seeking ICPAU membership, this masterclass could be a valuable opportunity for you!
