Job Description
Prepare and analyze financial statements (such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles (e.g., GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements (such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles (e.g., GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Provide financial reports to management, shareholders, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Record financial data in accounting software or spreadsheets and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
Tax Compliance
Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, payroll tax) in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
Financial Analysis
Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial performance with budgeted or forecasted figures.
Auditing
Assist in the audit process by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions and procedures.
Collaborate with auditors to ensure audits are conducted efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications and Experience
At least a bachelor's degree in the profession applied for.
Minimum 3-4 years' experience in the field applied for.
Experience in the downstream/petroleum industry is an added advantage.
