Job Description
We are now looking for competent persons who possess appropriate skills, knowledge and right attitude to fill vacant positions, which have fallen vacant within the NMS Structure. Applications are now invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant position existing at the NMS Head Office
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Tax Preparation and Compliance:
Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
Advise on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
Ensure all audit requirements are met and provide necessary documentation.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
Ensure timely payments and collections.
Reconcile discrepancies in billing and payments.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
Analyze financial performance and identify trends.
Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
Payroll Processing:
Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries.
Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and standards.
Ensure the organization’s financial practices comply with current laws and regulations.
Advisory and Consulting:
Advise management on financial matters, including cost-saving strategies and risk management.
Provide financial guidance and support for strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Accounting or MBA) or certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are highly desirable.
Experience:
Relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
Experience with accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Skills:
Strong proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and continuing education.
