Job Description
Our client digitizes agribusinesses with efficient supply chain management and traceability to secure authentic markets and affordable invoice financing. Their goal is to tackle the issue of agribusinesses lacking efficient supply chain management and traceability, which hinders them from securing authentic markets and affordable invoice financing. Our client comes in to provide a better way for agribusinesses to manage their supply chain and traceability efficiently, thereby enabling them to secure authentic markets and affordable financing.
Job Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing accurate financial information to the management team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the accuracy of financial documents.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and timely.
Monitor accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
Assist with tax planning and strategy.
Audit and Internal Controls:
Support internal and external audit processes.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives.
Assist with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in QuickBooks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
