Job Description

The Youth Agribusiness Hub Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations, including overseeing the Youth Agri-Investment Fund. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The accountant will play a crucial role in financial reporting, analysis, and providing financial guidance to support sustainable growth and effective utilization of funds for the Youth Agribusiness Hub.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day financial operations of the Youth Agribusiness Hub, including budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
Administer the Youth Agri-Investment Fund, ensuring proper allocation, tracking disbursements, and maintaining comprehensive records of fund utilization.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for the Youth Agribusiness Hub.
Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain comprehensive financial records, transaction documentation, and a reliable filing system, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial transactions.
Support capacity building initiatives by providing financial training and guidance to beneficiaries of the Youth Agribusiness Hub, enhancing financial literacy and
management skills.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA and ACCA are an added advantage
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles, preferably in a non-profit organization, agribusiness sector, or related industry.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, and contribute to a positive work culture.
Proficiency in local languages spoken in Nwoya District is advantageous.
Past Experience working with SACCOs is an added advantage.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
