Job Description
Product Knowledge: Develop a good understanding of the spare parts inventory, including car parts, machinery components, and other relevant items. Be able to suggest alternatives or compatible parts when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries about spare parts, and assisting in finding specific items.
Cash Handling: Operate cash registers, receive payments from customers, issue receipts, and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
Product Knowledge: Develop a good understanding of the spare parts inventory, including car parts, machinery components, and other relevant items. Be able to suggest alternatives or compatible parts when necessary.
Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including stock counts and restocking shelves as needed.
Coordinate with the inventory manager to ensure adequate stock levels.
Technical Assistance: Provide basic technical information to customers regarding the use and installation of spare parts. Direct customers to technical experts or resources when more detailed assistance is required.
Returns and Exchanges: Handle returns and exchanges according to store policies, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to procedures.
Cash Management: Count cash in drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, reconcile cash with sales receipts, and prepare daily cash reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience: Previous experience as a cashier in a hardware store or spare parts shop is highly preferred. Familiarity with spare parts terminology and products is advantageous.
Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of automotive or machinery parts and their applications is beneficial. Willingness to learn more about specific products and their uses.
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transactions, receipts, and inventory management.
Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the operational needs of the spare parts shop.
