Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of client, Microhaem Scientifics (MHS), we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Chief financial officer (CFO) to work in Uganda.

Job summary:

We’re searching for an experienced chief financial officer to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. The CFO will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends, but also will have experience raising capital and adapting to change, whether it’s through growth or downsizing. As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs.
Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same
Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization.
Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
Responsibilities
Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, profitability goals and directing staff.
Accomplishes finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counselling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; and planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
Managing the financial planning and budgeting process for the company.
Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors and investors.
Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Leading and developing the finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to support their professional growth and development.
Collaborating with other departments, such as operations and sales, to drive financial performance and support overall business objectives.
Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion.
Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with the investment community.
Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
Working knowledge of how to raise capital outside traditional lines of credit.
Mandatory qualifications.
Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
Experience in a senior management position.
Added Advantage:
Certified Public Accountant certification a plus
