Job Description
The primary role of the costing executive is to give accurate pricing estimates to the sales & marketing team, so that clients can be properly quoted for goods/services that they wish to procure from the Company.
The Costing executive is responsible for analysing the costs associated with the production of goods or delivery of services. This role involves collecting and interpreting cost data, creating detailed cost reports, and providing recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability. The Costing executive collaborates with the sales & marketing department to ensure accurate cost assessments
Duties and Responsibilities
Costing & Budgeting:
Calculate and analyse costs for all stages of the garment manufacturing process.
Develop and manage budgets for various projects.
Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to budgeted costs.
Provide insights and recommendations based on cost analysis.
Pricing:
Assist in setting product prices based on cost analysis and market conditions.
Ensure that pricing strategies align with company profitability goals.
Process Improvement:
Work closely with production and procurement teams to implement cost saving measures.
Maintain accurate and up-to date records of all costing activities
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics or a related field. Professional certifications (CMA, CPA) are a plus.
Citizen: Preferably Ugandan Nationality.
Linguistic skills: Fluent in English (Spoken & Written).
Experience: Minimum Five (5) Years Experience in cost accounting, financial analysis or a related field. Experience In A Costing Department Of A Textile/Garment Manufacturing Company or Promotional Item Trading, is Preferred
Age: Above 30 Years
Key Skills:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in excel and knowledge of cost accounting principles is a must. Experience with accounting software (Tally, SAP, etc.) is preferred.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team environment.
Ability to work under pressure.
