Nilezilla Ltd is a private company limited by shares located in Yumbe District, West Nile sub-region, Uganda. Its main objective is to promote the use of locally available fruits in the production of high quality value added products for local, regional and international markets. Currently, the company has established a mango processing factory in Lodonga sub-country, Yumbe District and will start commercial production in May 2024.
Job Description
Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Overseeing budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting, and providing analysis and recommendations to management.
Managing cash flow, investments, and financial risk, and optimizing financial performance.
Conducting financial forecasting, planning, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Accounting and Reporting:
Supervising accounting staff and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Coordinating audits and ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Administrative Management:
Overseeing administrative functions such as facilities management, office operations, procurement, and vendor management.
Developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, compliance, and a supportive work environment.
Managing contracts, leases, insurance, and other administrative agreements.
Supervising administrative staff and providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Human Resources Management:
Collaborating with HR staff to oversee HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintaining employee records.
Managing compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration and employee benefits enrollment.
Strategic Planning and Support:
Participating in strategic planning processes and providing financial and administrative expertise to support organizational goals and initiatives.
Conducting financial analysis, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for strategic projects and investments.
Providing financial and administrative support to senior management and department heads, including preparing presentations and reports.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including tax laws, financial regulations, and industry standards.
Identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks, implementing internal controls, and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serving as a liaison with external stakeholders such as auditors, regulators, vendors, and partners, representing the organization professionally and ensuring positive relationships.
Communicating financial and administrative information effectively to internal stakeholders, including management, staff, and board members.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in either Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or Banking and Finance from a recognized Institution; and ACCA or CPA qualifications
At least three years' experience in a similar position in a private sector or NGO establishments
Computer knowledge in contemporary accounting software
