Job Description
The ideal candidate will deliver personalized investment solutions to help clients work toward their long-term financial goals. They should be be comfortable creating financial plans and cross checking work to ensure complete accuracy of information.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide financial planning support to clients
Support investment professionals to cultivate client relationships
Prepare financial plans and check their accuracy
Financial Planning
Assessing Client Needs:
Conducting detailed interviews to understand clients' financial goals, risk tolerance, income, expenses, and investment preferences.
Developing Financial Plans:
Creating customized financial plans tailored to clients' goals, including saving for retirement, buying a home, funding education, and estate planning.
Investment Management
Portfolio Management:
Designing and managing investment portfolios based on clients’ objectives and risk profiles.
Investment Recommendations:
Providing advice on investment options such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and real estate.
Monitoring Investments:
Regularly reviewing and adjusting portfolios to ensure they align with clients’ goals and market conditions.
Retirement Planning
Retirement Savings:
Advising on the best retirement savings plans, such as 401(k)s, IRAs, and pensions.
Retirement Income Strategies:
Developing strategies for generating income in retirement, including withdrawal plans and social security optimization.
Tax Planning
Tax-efficient Strategies:
Identifying and recommending tax-saving strategies, such as tax-advantaged accounts and investments.
Collaboration with Tax Professionals:
Working with accountants and tax advisors to ensure comprehensive tax planning.
Estate Planning
Estate Distribution:
Assisting clients in creating wills, trusts, and estate plans to manage the distribution of their assets after death.
Minimizing Estate Taxes:
Advising on strategies to minimize estate taxes and ensure a smooth transfer of assets to heirs.
Insurance and Risk Management
Insurance Analysis:
Evaluating clients' insurance needs, including life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance.
Insurance Recommendations:
Recommending appropriate insurance policies to protect clients against financial risks.
Education Planning
College Savings:
Advising on education savings plans, such as 529 plans, Coverdell accounts, and custodial accounts.
Funding Strategies:
Developing strategies to fund education costs efficiently.
Budgeting and Debt Management
Budget Creation:
Helping clients create and maintain budgets to manage their income and expenses effectively.
Debt Reduction:
Advising on debt reduction strategies, including consolidating loans and managing credit card debt.
Client Relationship Management
Regular Meetings:
Scheduling regular meetings with clients to review their financial status and update plans as needed.
Communication:
Maintaining open and ongoing communication with clients to address concerns and provide updates on financial plans and market conditions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
5+ years' of industry experience
Strong understanding of the investment business
Excellent interpersonal skills
